Dr. Roxas Talks About Rice Pests, Diseases and Weeds - National Trainers Training on Aerobic Rice Technology Day 2 by A.M. Jain

Dr. Aurea A. Roxas gave a lecture on "Understanding Pests of Aerobic Rice and Determining Practices to Control Occurrence" during the second day of a three-day National Trainers' Training on Aerobic Rice Technology held on April 23-25, 2014 at the Asiablooms Hotel in Sta. Cruz, Laguna. She is an Accredited Researcher in Fertilizer and Pesticide Authority and a holder of a degree in Doctor of Philosophy in Entomology from the University of the Philippines in Los Baños, Laguna. She is a retired Professor of Central Luzon State University but according to her she is not yet tired.

RISE OF THE RICE: National Trainers Training on Aerobic Rice Technology by B. Figarola

The first of the three-day Trainer's training on Aerobic Rice Technology (ART) at the Asia Blooms Hotel, Patimbao, Sta. Cruz, Laguna was held on April 23, 2014. The day started with the registration at 8:00 in the morning followed by the commencement of the opening program. It started with a prayer from Prof. Menchie del Rosario of LSPU-SC College of Agriculture and an Audio Visual Presentation of the Philippine National Anthem. The LSPU President, Dr. Nestor M. De Vera delivered the welcome remarks where he stressed the importance of Aerobic Rice Technology in answering the nation's banner call on poverty alleviation and climate change adaptation.

16th Batch of Intensive English Language Proficiency Course for Korean Students from Changwon Moonsung University, Korea by Florhaida V. Pamatmat, Ed.D.

The IELPC for 2014 commenced on January 6 upon the arrival of twenty four (24) Korean students and two (2) professors from CMU, Korea. This is the biggest number of Korean students who got interested of participating in the Study Tour Student Exchange Program between Laguna State Polytechnic University and Changwon Moonsung University.

Every year, CMU is dispatching Korean students to LSPU at least twice, once during winter break and another during summer break.

Training Program for Vietnamese English Teachers at San Pablo City Campus, September to December 2013 by Florhaida V. Pamatmat, Ed.D.

Thai Nguyen University - School of Foreign Languages commenced its international academic partnership with Laguna State Polytechnic University on June 2013. On September 8, five enthusiastic and diligent Vietnamese English teachers were sent by the Ministry of Education of Vietnam to participate in a three-month Intensive English Teaching Training Program. The five Vietnamese English teachers were : Vu Thanh Binh, Hoang Thi Huyen Nhung, Lu Thanh Xuan, Nguyen Thi Cam Nhung and Nguyen Thi Dieu Thuy.

Newly Elected FSSC Officers Takes Oath by Clinton Umali

LSPU STA.CRUZ CAMPUS- Newly elected Federated Student Council President Cess Nielton Lucero together with Sta. Cruz Campus SSC President, Noel Bartolome and OSAS Director, Virgillo Bartolome took oath at the President's Office, March 6.

In a discussion after the oath of the office, University President, Dr. Nestor M. de Vera stressed out the importance of abiding the laws and policies that newly elected FSSC Officers should bear in mind.
