On April 6, 2015 Los Banos Campus held its graduation ceremony with Hon. Joaquin “Jun” Chipeco, Congressman of the 2nd District of Laguna as the Commencement Speaker. In his message he emphasized the need to address our society’s cascading link to the global community particularly in impending ASEAN integration. Hence, that is a challenge for LSPU to produce globally competitive graduates through curricular innovations and taking the lead in fashioning the 21st century.

Dr. Nestor M. De Vera together with five University officials visited Batanes, the northern most frontier of the Philippines, last February 18 – 20, 2015 for several purposes, to attend the Philippine Science Consortium First Quarter Meeting and Action Planning Workshop, benchmarking of Batanes State College and benchmarking of Batanes province with regards to disaster risk reduction and management.
Hosting the Third PSC National Faculty and Student Research Congress provided a significant advantage and mileage for Laguna State Polytechnic University being one of its youngest members. Through the success of this research conclave followed by the University’s top five showing at the quiz bowl as well as its continuous presence in PSC activities, Dr. Nestor De Vera is selected as the first chairperson for the PSC Committee on Faculty Development. The Action Plan of the Committee was presented by A/Prof. Rommel Octavius R. Nuestro, VPRD and PSC Coordinator during the workshop plenary session and in the Joint Council and Secretariat Meeting.
Benchmarking of the Batanes State College and of Batanes province with regards to disaster risk reduction and management was also done by the delegation. This was done through observation and visits to various towns of the province. Highlights of the benchmark visit included those of documentation of possible design/s for rescue boats, visit to PAGASA station as reference to the University meteorological activities, and visit to Mahatao Port as benchmark to proposed LSPU Los Baños breakwater facilities.
Participation in the 2015 International Reasearch Convention of the Laguna State Polytechnic University to be held on June 23-25, 2015 at the Splash Mountain Resort and Hotel, Los Banos, Laguna
In accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act(R.A.)7722,otherwise known as the "Higher Education Act of 1994", this office hereby endorses the above undertaking organized by the Laguna State Polytechnic University for the support and participation of all concerned.
This activity will be attended by the faculty and students involved in research activities of higher education institutions.
Participation of officials, employees and students from private higher education institutions(HEIs) shall be VOLUNTARY. Officials and employees of State and Local Universities and Colleges (SUCs and LUCs) who will participate in this activity should obtain prior approval from the President/Head of their respective institutions and are hereby reminded to observe proper use of the goverment funds in accordance with the Department of Budget and Management(DBM) National Budget Circular NO. 486 and Administrative ORder No. 103

The convention has the following objectives:
1. Bring together graduate students and experts to catalyze and advance scientific knowledge and present the most recent findings, and promote and enhance research collaborations across universities;
2. Acquire key, new/contemporary and substantial concepts and research information in relation to research functions, subjects, tools, environment, and challenges among others; and
3. Encourage graduate students and experts to conduct quality researches that may result to individual or institutional transformation to a better life.

LSPU ranks 1st runner-up in STRASUC Olympics ‘14
Dr. De Vera joins other SUC Presidents during the opening ceremonies
With the odds and home court advantage in favor of the team, the 417 strong delegation of Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) Lakers bagged 59 gold medals and sealed its overall 1st Runner-Up finish in the recently concluded Southern Tagalog Regional Association of State Universities and Colleges (STRASUC) Olympics, slated December 16 – 21, 2014, hosted by the University of the Philippines - Los Baños (UPLB).
