Assistant Professor Christian Paul P. de la Cruz of the Laguna State Polytechnic University-Los Banos Campus (LSPU-LBC) won best technology pitch in the 1st Regional Research and Innovation Week (RRIW) held at the University of the Philippines Los Baños (UPLB), Oct 26.
A/Prof. de la Cruz, a faculty of the College of Fisheries (COF), presented the Biosyn-F: Probiotics for Milkfish, described as "a synbiotic formulation of dietary feed supplement for cultured milkfish."
The product is further explained as containing “host-adapted mixed-culture of endogenous probiotic bacterial strains, enriched with potent phytogenic/prebiotic substances. It improves the overall health condition, survival, and growth performance of cultured milkfish and can be used during larval/nursery rearing and grow-out production."
De la Cruz also serves as the Interim Director of the Center for Lakes Sustainable Development (CLSD) of the LSPU-LBC.
