The Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office 4A (DSWD FO) conducted the payout to beneficiaries of their cash-for-work program at the Activity Center of Laguna State Polytechnic University-Sta Cruz Campus (LSPU-SCC) today, Dec. 22.

According to the DSWD FO4A paymasters, the compensation that will be received by the estimated 490 beneficiaries of the Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Comprehensive and Integrated Delivery of Social Services (KALAHI-CIDSS) program covers the months of November and December.

These beneficiaries are the fresh graduates from the four (4) campuses of LSPU who have been given temporary jobs to prepare them for the real-work life ahead and financially support them in their plans.

Meanwhile, Sen. Imee Marcos, through Atty. Karen Agapay, Laguna Vice Governor, thanked everyone who continuously supports the said program, especially the DSWD 4A personnel and the LSPU officials and staff under the leadership of Lt. Col. Mario R. Briones, EdD, University President.

Vice Gov. Agapay shared that the senator believes in the importance of youth in our community and continues working with different government agencies to help them reach their dreams.

Selected beneficiaries also expressed their gratitude to Sen. Marcos, DSWD, and LSPU for the opportunity given to them to find work to gain experience and new knowledge that they can use to achieve their dreams.

This program is just one of the goals of KALAHI-CIDSS to address the root causes of poverty and increase access to basic services of our national government.
