In line with the continuous support and participation of the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) in the nationwide initiative of our government on earthquake preparedness, the University Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office (UDRRMO) shares the following earthquake safety reminder for schools:
1. Prepare a school earthquake evacuation plan.
2. Conduct school earthquake drills regularly.
3. When a strong shaking starts, protect yourself by staying away from falling objects such as pieces of broken glass windows, ceiling fans, etc.
4. Get under a sturdy table/desk and do the “Duck, Cover, and Hold’ stay put until the shaking stops.
5. As soon as the shaking stops leave the classroom immediately.
- Walk
- Do not run
- Do not push
- Do not talk
- Get out of the building in an orderly manner
- Proceed to the identified evacuation area
