Leafing another chapter of an academic milestone, the Laguna State Polytechnic University-Los Baños Campus (LSPU-LBC) formalized its partnership with Rex Bookstore Inc., (Rex) in providing quality educational materials and resources among faculty and students of the university, Feb. 28.
Atty. Rushid Jay S. Sancon, Campus Director of LSPU-LBC, and Mr. Ferdinand Tambasin, Regional Sales Manager of Rex, headed the signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the two parties held at the Board of Regents Room, LSPU-LBC. Atty. Sancon represented Dr. Mario R. Briones, University President; meanwhile, Mr. Tambasin represented the chief operating officer of Rex.
Also present at the event were representatives such as deans of selected colleges, chairperson of the Business Affairs Office, faculty, and staff.
This three-year academic collaboration covers the provision of Rex granting the LSPU a discount on all tertiary books purchased/adopted and professors’ kit inclusive of suggested syllabus, and presentations.
The partnership also provides an avenue for the faculty members to have their developed learning materials reach publication.
The initial set of resource materials on the list covers the area of hospitality management and tourism with titles such as Macro Perspective of Tourism and Hospitality, Global Culture and Tourism Geography, and Tourism Policy Planning and Development, among others. However, the collaboration intends to cater to all disciplines and may be extended to law books and digital products like learning management systems.
