CCS, FDS Asya team up for internship program

The College of Computer Studies (CCS) of the Laguna State Polytechnic University-San Pablo City Campus (LSPU-SPCC) forged a partnership with the FDS Asya Philippines Inc., (FDS Asya) for the internship program of its students.

Dr. Mario R. Briones, University President, and Mr. Roderick Mercado, FDS Asya President, headed the ceremonial signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) held at the Conference Hall, LSPU-SPCC, Feb. 28.

FDS Asya is one of the leading information and technology (IT) companies in Southeast Asia with international affiliations in Singapore and Indonesia.

Mr. Ronnel Dela Cruz, Associate Dean of CCS, explained that the MOA establishes the framework for collaboration in nurturing the next generation of professionals.

“Through this agreement, we aim to provide students with valuable hands-on experience and equip them with practical skills and knowledge essential for success in their chosen careers,” he stated.

Extending his gratitude, President Briones expressed the commitment of the university to arrive at mutually beneficial outcomes from this collaboration.

“We vow not only to fulfill our part of the agreement but also to look for more ways in which both parties can greatly benefit from this lasting partnership we ink today,” he said.

Meanwhile, Mr. Mercado shared that FDS Asya welcomes on-the-job training (OJT) students to help them reach better opportunities. He also said that they are open to having our graduates become a part of their human resources.

A/Prof. Joel M. Bawica, Campus Director of LSPU-SPCC, extended the potential of the partnership not only in terms of the internship program but also in other areas of collaboration. Supporting this exploration, Dr. Eden C. Callo, Vice President for Academic Affairs, also tapped into the other fields of specialization such as office administration, accountancy, and psychology, among others.

Mr. Joesua R. Manzanero, OJT coordinator, read the salient points of the agreement. Meanwhile, Mr. Al John A. Villareal served as the master of the ceremonies.

In attendance were selected officials of LSPU; faculty members of CCS; and representatives from FDS Asya and CARD MRI Holdings, Inc.
