LSPU researchers win 3rd place in reg'l R&D contest

A group of researchers from the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) won 3rd place in the First Junior Researchers’ Research and Development (R&D) competition (New Project Leaders’ Category) of the Southern Tagalog Consortium for Industry, Energy, and Emerging Technology Research and Development (STCIEERD), held at the Batangas State University (BatSU), Nov. 29.

Michelle C. Gonzales, Darwin D. Ofrin, Jhonmar L. Tolentino, and Norilyn N. Olicia won the said spot for their research project entitled “Tabletop Surface Mount Printed Circuit Board (PCB) Assembly Machine,” granting them a cash prize of P5,000.00. 

The 1st STCIEERD Research Summit themed “Harnessing the Power of Emerging Technologies for Economic Growth and Social Impact” was a two-day event held on Nov. 28-29.

The summit aimed to showcase the industry, energy, and emerging technology in the Calabarzon region through STCIEERD, Regional Science and Technology Center (RSTC)—Department of Science and Technology Region IV-A (DOST IV-A).

Ms. Gonzales was also awarded with a certificate of recognition for presenting the said research.
