The Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) and the National University (NU) formalized their partnership on computer and information technology through the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) at the Board Room of the LSPU-Siniloan Campus (LSPU-SC), Nov. 29.

The academic partnership was made possible through the College of Computer Studies (CCS) and the College of Computing and Information Technologies (CCIT) of LSPU and NU, respectively.

The partnership aims to explore joint sponsored research and development engagements; exchange of faculty, scientists, and staff; student exchange; exchange of scientific and technical materials; and joint conferences, workshops, and short-term courses, subject to agreed upon implementation.

Dr. Arelene O. Trillanes, Vice President for Operations of NU, and Dr. Robert C. Agatep, Vice President for Research Development and Extension of LSPU, headed the signing of MOU.

Accompanying Dr. Agatep from LSPU were Dr. Francis Balahadia, Associate Dean of CCS; A/Prof. Joel M. Bawica, Campus Director of the LSPU-San Pablo City Campus (LSPU-SPCC); Dr. Archieval Jain; and selected faculty and staff of CCS LSPU-SC.

After the ceremonial signing, the NU delegates also visited the LSPU Mushroom Production Center at LSPU-SC, a joint project of LSPU and the Department of Science and Technology (DOST).
