The faculty and staff of the Laguna State Polytechnic University-Los Baños Campus (LSPU-LBC) presented and reviewed over 70 research proposals in its in-house review held from February to March.
The said activity provided an avenue for scholarly exchange of feedback to improve the research interventions of the campus. It also looked into the applicability of the proposals to address the needs of its immediate community.
“We strive for user-driven research. We do not propose research solely for promotion. Ultimately, we do it to meet the needs of the people we serve,” Atty. Rushid Jay S. Sancon, LSPU-LBC Campus Director, stressed while explaining the purpose of the review.
During the in-house sessions, completed/published research and studies with pending Intellectual Property (IP) applications were also presented. It covered multidisciplinary areas including topics on health, environment, gender and development, disaster risk response, agriculture, education, and technology, among others.
University colleges such as the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS), College of Business Administration and Accountancy (CBAA), College of Criminal Justice Education (CCJE), College of Computer Studies (CCS), College of Food Nutrition and Dietetics (CFND), College of Hospitality Management and Tourism (CHMT), College of Fisheries (COF), and College of Teacher Education (CTE) participated in the activity and facilitated their in-house review with distinguished panelists in their respective field.
The activity was also graced by Dr. Chester Alexis C. Buama, Faculty Regent. He congratulated the campus for initiating the activity towards research advancement and innovation.
This initiative was headed by the LSPU-LBC Research and Development Services led by Dr. Ofelia B. Maningas and is an annual activity of the campus.
