Love is truly in the air as the students from different colleges of the Laguna State Polytechnic University-Sta Cruz Campus (LSPU-SCC) joined the “HUES of the Spectrum Parade” to commence the first day of its February Fair 2024 celebration with the theme, “Kapiyuso: A Heart’s Day Spectrum,” Feb. 14.
Creating a colorful queue, the students donned shirts bearing the colors that represented their Love Month status. After the parade, the hosts welcomed all the participants who yelled their way into the Activity Center.
Louis Laine Padua, Student Regent, stated in her welcome remarks that the Supreme Student Council (SSC) organized the activity to allow students to have a space of relaxation from stress and academic work.
“Hindi po namin ito ginawa para sa aming mga sarili,” said Ms. Padua. “Ito po ay aming ginanap para po sa inyo, para sa kapwa Ka-Piyu para tayo po ay makapag-relax, makapag-enjoy, at kahit papano [ay] makapag-breathe tayo dun sa stress and pressure na nararamdaman natin sa ating academic life.”
Meanwhile, Mr. Christian P. San Luis, Chairperson of the Office of Student Affairs and Services (OSAS), expressed his gratitude to the LSPU officials, employees, and students who have supported the implementation and success of this program.
Various contests were also held during the three-day celebration such as Carnival Booths Competition, Heart Quest Expedition, Cinematic Love Fest (film fest competition), Soulmate Social for those looking for someone special, Motion Spectrum Showdown (Dance Contest), Spoken Poetry Contest, Radiant Ambassadors Pageant and Sonic Rhythm Spectacle. The battle of the bands marked the end of the Feb Fair 2024.
