Team of three (3) students from the Laguna State Polytechnic University- Siniloan campus dominated the first Regional Coconut Quiz Bee as the overall champions, held at Lucena City last Monday, August 22.
The said event was held to encourage the younger generations to engage and raise awareness in a way that will indulge creativity and catch their interest.
LSPU-SC sent two teams with a total of six students from the College of Agriculture to compete with BS Agriculture and Agricultural Technology students from the University of the Philippines Los Baños and Southern Luzon State University.
Out of all the participants from the three participating universities and three eliminating rounds, Ernie Ritual, Norman Trillana, and Yenelyn Avecilla of BS Agriculture emerged as the overall champions. Landing as the 2nd placer on the easy round, 1st placer on the moderate round, and 4th placer on the difficult round.
“Kaunting araw lang preparation kaya medyo nakakapressure. Nakakatuwa lang isipin na ang LSPU with the help of President of the SC and College of Agriculture specially to Ma’am Gatbonton ,Sir Molon and Sir Allan. Full support sila sa mga ganitong kompetisyon.”, Ernie Ritual, one of the winners, said in his statement after their winning stunt.
The Philippine Coconut Authority Region IV conducted the first Regional Coconut Quiz Bee and Poster Making Competition with the theme: “Masaganang Niyugan: Katuwang sa Maunlad na Kinabukasan”, as part of the celebration of the 36th National Coconut Week.
