LSPU inks membership in DILG Laguna's Advisory Committee for Sub-local Governance Resource Center

Strengthening its cooperation with the local government, the Laguna State Polytechnic University-Siniloan Campus (LSPU-SC) forged a partnership with the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) of Laguna as a member of the Multi-Sectoral Advisory Committee (MSAC) for the establishment of the sub-Local Governance Resource Center (sub-LGRC), Sep. 26.

The signing of the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) conducted at the DILG Laguna Conference Room in Sta. Cruz, Laguna formalized the active involvement of the university in the development and promotion of the sub-LGRC which is a learning resource hub for the dissemination of knowledge about local government.

With the College of Computer Studies (CCS) as the forerunner for the membership, the LSPU is now an official member of the said committee along with other education institutions such as the Philippine Women’s University (PWU) and the Systems Technology Institute (STI).

Representing Dr. Mario R. Briones for LSPU in the MOA signing were Engr. Beltran P. Pedrigal, Vice President for Administration; Atty. Rushid Jay S. Sancon, Campus Director of LSPU-SC; Dr. Francis Balahadia, Associate Dean of CCS; and faculty members from CCS.

As a member of the MSAC, the LSPU is expected to take part in the quarterly meetings of the committee, participate in the pooling of resources, suggest convergence activities for local government units (LGUs), and contribute knowledge products related to local governance.
