In line with the celebration of the Women’s Month, the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) conducted a gender and development (GAD) seminar for the personnel and persons deprived of liberty (PDL) of the Bureau of Jail Management (BJMP)-Calabarzon, at the Calamba City Jail-Male Dormitory, March 15.
The seminar went over the topics “Gender Awareness: Embracing Diversity and Equality” and “Violence Against Women and Children.”
Mr. Efren Dela Paz, JD, Administrative Officer V of LSPU-Los Baños Campus, headed the discussion among the participants.
The seminar was conducted as a response to the request of Adelaida A. Taburada, Jail Superintendent, City Jail Warden.
As part of its mandate of providing services to the community, the LSPU conducts extension projects, programs, and activities with external stakeholders. The University likewise coordinates and collaborates with different private and government agencies and institutions for projects that will alleviate the situation of the community and nation.
