The Sta. Cruz Campus, Siniloan Campus, and San Pablo City Campus submitted a total of nine programs for the review and assessment of evaluators from the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP).

The online accreditation covered the following programs: (Siniloan Campus) Level IV, Phase 2 accreditation for Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, Bachelor of Secondary Education, Bachelor of Physical Education, Bachelor of Technology and Livelihood Education, and Bachelor of Science in Agribusiness; Level III, Phase 2 for Bachelor of Science in Agriculture and Bachelor of Science in Psychology; (Sta. Cruz Campus) Level III, Phase 2 for Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering; and (San Pablo City Campus ) Level 4, Phase 2 for Bachelor of Technical Vocational Teacher Education.

The results of the evaluation will be forwarded to the university upon official issuance of AACCUP.

From the three-day evaluation, Dr. Jaime M. Forbes of the Bataan Peninsula State University who served as one of the accreditation coordinators shared their team’s positive impression of the university and programs for having been awarded ISO certification, producing quality graduates, and having supportive administration.

Dr. Forbes also provided some recommendations for the university to consider such as conducting a tracer study using the instrument of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED), complying with the requirements to secure certificates of program compliance (COPC), aligning extension projects with the programs, and strengthening international linkages, among others.

Meanwhile, Dr. Manuel A. Sanchez Jr of the Iloilo Science and Technology, AACCUP coordinator, added some challenges for the university such as striving for higher institutional accreditation (IA) status, maintaining the ISO certification, climbing in the ranks of top universities in the country, setting for higher Program to Institutionalize Meritocracy and Excellence in Human Resource Management (PRIME-HRM), and aiming for more centers of development (COD), among others.

“The focus of these challenges is striving for excellence and continuous improvement,” Dr. Sanchez explained. “We must remember that challenges provide opportunities for growth and development.”

Dr. Sanchez shared that he was confident that LSPU can overcome these obstacles and will continue to excel with the right mindset and effort.

In his message, Dr. Mario R. Briones, University President, stated that the accreditation survey visits attest to our unwavering commitment of the university to complying with standards set by CHED. He also thanked the hard-working team tasked to inspect the programs, for assisting LSPU and making sure that it is ready and equipped to offer a variety of programs that respond to the demands of the global market.

Also sharing their messages and words of commitment in the three-day accreditation were Dr. Eden C. Callo, Vice President for Academic Affairs; Engr. Beltran P. Pedrigal, Vice President for Administration; Dr. Albert D. Yazon, Director for Quality Assurance; Atty. Rushid Jay S. Sancon, Campus Director of LSPU-Siniloan Campus; and A/Prof. Joel M.
