Dr. Mario R. Briones, University President of the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU), is the recipient of the International Association of Physical Education and Sports, Inc. (IAPES) Most Outstanding and Innovative University President of the Year award.
President Briones is one of the awardees of the First International Eminence Award (FIEA) 2023 held at the Taal Vista Hotel Tagaytay, Cavite, Nov. 18.
Also joining President Briones in the roster of awardees are three LSPU educators: Dr. Darwin D. Ofrin, Most Outstanding Director and Associate Dean, Asst. Prof. Roger A. Gimpaya, Most Outstanding and Innovative Educator, Researcher, and Program Head; and Asst. Professor Francis Jose S. Dela Cruz.
Dr. Briones personally attended the ceremony to receive the award and grace the event with his words of appreciation.
The FIEA aims to recognize outstanding professionals and organizations in the field of sports and education from various levels and institutions in the Philippines and abroad. It was organized by IAPES, Inc., a non-profit organization promoting the delivery of “physical education, sports, and physical activity in educational contexts and in the wider community.”
The LSPU and IAPES formally inked their partnership in the fields of education and research through the signing of the memorandum of understanding (MOU) early this year.
