LSPU ROTC scores high in reg'l inspection

The Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) of the Laguna State Polytechnic University-Santa Cruz Campus (LSPU-SCC) received a rating of 95.9% in the Regional Annual Administrative and Tactical Inspection (RAATI) held at the campus grounds, June 20.

Organized by the Philippine Army under the leadership of LTC Noel B. Wamil INF(GSC) PA, the RAATI aimed to assess the implementation and sustainability of the ROTC program across universities in the region. This includes evaluating both the administrative skills for logistics and organization and the tactical evaluations for military skills of the trainees.

First year students under the ROTC program represented the LSPU in the said regional inspection.

According to University President Mario R. Briones, a commissioned officer of the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP),  the activity provided an avenue to showcase the quality of training undergone by the ROTC students.

“It highlights the summary of knowledge and skills acquired by the cadet officers and basic cadet allied in a manner that seeks validation, inspection, and scrutiny…in assessing the quality of tactical activities,” President Briones said.

He also expressed his appreciation to all the participants for their commendable performance despite the limited time to prepare.

Dr. Jethro N. Austria, NSTP Director, thanked the RAATI team for their corrective suggestions. He expressed his openness to adopt the recommendations into the program in support of “achieving excellence not only academically but also in the development of future leaders in the military aspect.”
