LSPU REC, IDD join Luzon-wide Robotics Orientation and Coach Training

Leading the university towards robotics and technology development initiatives, the Laguna State Polytechnic University Robotics Education Center (LSPU-REC) in collaboration with the Ideation, Design and Development (IDD) Laboratory participated in the 2024 Orientation and Coach Training for 2024 Luzon National Robotics Competition (NRC) held at the University of Cordillera, Baguio City, Aug. 24.

The training aimed to train coaches and educators from Luzon for the NRC 2024, particularly, providing updates on the latest competition guidelines.

The LSPU delegation was headed by REC Project Leader Michelle C. Gonzales and IDD Project Leader Dr. Edilberto Z. Andal with members composed of Dr. Darwin D. Ofrin, Errish M. Bautista, Anabel C. Lor, Levin Vowee A. Valdez, and Aldrin A. De Guzman from the College of Industrial Technology (CIT) and College of Teacher Education (CTE).

Apart from the LSPU-REC, coaches and teachers from Regions I, III, IV-A, and CAR also participated in the event hosted by the University of Cordilleras in collaboration with Pinoy Robot Games and the Institute of Computer Engineers of the Philippines (ICpEP-CAR).

The training also provided a space to go over the topics of robot design, programming, creative problem-solving, and effective coaching techniques.

Participation in this orientation is a part of the steps taken by LSPU-REC for their engagement in national robotics competitions as reported earlier this month.

NRC 2024 Luzon is set to be held at UC Baguio City on November 16, 2024.
