Three curricular programs: Bachelor of Secondary Education, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education, and Bachelor of Science in Industrial Education offered by LSPU College of Teacher Education and College of Industrial Technology of Sta. Cruz, San Pablo, and Siniloan Campuses are submitted for Accrediting Agency of chartered colleges and Universities in the Philippines’ (AACCUP) Fourth Survey visit i.e., Level IV, Phase I accreditation, today September 3 until Friday, September 7, 2018.
The Opening Program was held this morning 9:00 – 10:30 at the LSPU Main Campus CHMT Function Hall. The University President, Dr. Nestor M. De Vera with the Campus Director, Engineer Joseph M. Cabiente heartily welcomed the Accrediting Team with all the attendees and extended his earnest appreciation of the efforts exerted by the LSPU family in preparation for this survey visit. He reflectively recalled that LSPU failed in its first attempt to have its programs accredited in 1997, but it stood up and has made it since 1999 with flying colors. He expressed his joys over LSPU’s accredited programs and for the University itself, having been elevated from a Level 1 State University to a Level 3 State University now. Likewise, he verbalized his hope and positivity of surpassing this week’s accreditation.
Dr. Leoncio M. Matibay, the Over-all Coordinator of the AACCUP Accrediting Team delivered the statement of purpose. He defined accreditation process and underscored that attaining Level 4 accredited status means having curricular programs of excellence, high quality, and prestige which are comparable with foreign universities’ programs. He identified the examinations and ocular visits that they will conduct within five days, introduced his members, and assured fair and objective ratings from them.
