LSPU collabs with Toshiba, APSI for local recruitment

Paving the way from graduation to employment, the Laguna State Polytechnic University-Sta. Cruz Campus (LSPU-SCC), through the Alumni and Placement Services (AAPS) and College of Industrial Technology (CIT), organized a local recruitment event with Toshiba Information Equipment (Phils) and Alternative Power Solution Inc., (APSI) at the CHMT Function Hall, June 3.

Apart from CIT, graduating students from the College of Engineering (COE), College of Business, and Administration, and Accountancy (CBAA), joined the said activity in anticipation of their future career prospects.

Other than offering job opportunities among graduating students, Dr. Liza L. Bartolome, Chairperson of AAPS, explained that the local recruitment aimed to help alumni find job vacancies and secure job placement.

Engr. Manuel Luis R. Alvarez, Campus Director of LSPU-SCC, told the participants how fortunate they are to have this kind of activity to help them find jobs after graduation. He explained that opportunities like these should not be missed, especially at a time when even board passers find difficulty in landing a job.

He also encouraged local companies to hold similar activities on other campuses of the University to extend the opportunities among potential talents.

To close the event, Mr. Erwin Napiza, CIT faculty and Director of the LSPU Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (UDRRMO), shared that nine (9) out ten (10) on-the-job trainees of LSPU at APSI have been absorbed by the company as its employees.

Instead of being too selective of their first job, Mr. Napiza also encouraged the applicants to seize every opportunity that may come their way, gaining experience as their stepping stones for better job opportunities in the future.

The participating companies were also recognized during the event. Ms. Geezele C. Nequinto served as the lady of the ceremony of the program for the local recruitment.
