Kabuti-incubatees (Kabu-tees) of the LSPU Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubator (AATBI) under the Department of Science & Technology- Philippine Council for Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources Research and Development (DOST-PCAARRD) have been continuously donating mushroom harvests to Covid-19 frontliners. The new agripreneurs started their mushroom production last May 2020, as small start-ups, for their livelihood and eventually supply raw materials for the production of mushroom canton and other value added products for commercialization. The mushroom production is made possible through the shared technology and assistance of the Systems of Total Rehabilitation of Agricultural Wastes (STRAW) Program headed by Dr. Lolita Viyar, Dean of the College of Agriculture and an AATBI inwall incubatee.
Outwall incubatees are from the different parts of Laguna, namely: Marita Manalo, Mabitac, with the assistance of the Adoress Farm; Maricel Retuerma, Pangil, with the assistance of the Matt n Kayla Family Farm; Maryvie San Agustin and Nilda Cano, Siniloan; Leorico Llamas, Los Baños; Victoria Bandillo, Sta. Cruz, and Prospero Sabido III, Lumban.
AATBI is exerting its efforts to accelerate the incubation process of the technologies and products of the University, including the roll out to the community of LSPU's matured products with utility models such as the mushroom canton and ANIKA's products, among others.
