Home/ News & Articles/ 11 Korean Students and Professors Join LSPU Edu-Tour IELPC Program 2nd Batch of Cooperation for Overseas Service Corps
Professor Soo-Kyoung Kim, from the Library & Information Science Department of Changwon Moonsung University, Korea, heads the 17th Batch of Koreans arriving Manila, Philippines on January 5, 2015 to explore Intensive English Language Proficiency Course and Tour at LSPU-Santa Cruz Main Campus, Santa Cruz, Laguna.
This is an annual friendly academic program between CMU-Korea and LSPUPhilippines which has been successfully implemented since 2000. The Koreans stay for a period of one-month to experience English proficiency program and friendly socialization and cultural activities with Filipino professors and students.
The 18th Batch also continued the Overseas Service Corps, a service of teaching Filipino volunteers the Korean Language including the introduction of Korean culture for free. The program aims to cultivate Filipino and Korean students’ sound mind and global citizenship, through sharing of culture and the teaching of language.
The LSPU Professors involved in the teaching of Intensive English are as follows: Dr. Erlinda R. Fandino, Dr. Zenaida O. Vitasa, A/Prof. Nimfa G. Dimaculangan, A/Prof. Leonor L. Lopez, and A/Prof. Juanita L. Juanillas. Dr. Florhaida V. Pamatmat, Director for International Affairs is coordinating the program.
On the 18th Commencement Program Kim Jeong Hyeon receives the Leadership Award and Proficient in Oral Communication, while Yoon Ju Yeong is awarded Proficient in Written Communication.
