LSPU in talks with Toshiba for future collab

Further expanding its industry partnerships, the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) conducted an initial dialogue with Toshiba Information Equipment (Philippines), Inc., (TIP), in Biñan City, Laguna, for an academic collaboration, Jan. 29.

Held during a plant tour at TIP, the meeting focused on the proposal of bringing in student interns from different colleges of the university to gain industry experience at TIP.

According to Mr. Erwin Napiza, Overall On-the-Job-Training (OJT) Coordinator, the TIP is very much willing to be a partner of the university in accepting OJTs from the College of Industrial Technology (CIT), College of Engineering (COE), and College of Computer Studies (CCS).

The delegates of LSPU who conducted the plant tour and meeting with TIP were Dr. Freddie S. Pinuela, Dean of CIT; Dr. Darwin Ofrin, Associate Dean of CIT; Mr. Napiza, who also serves the Director of the University Disaster Risk Reduction Management (UDRRM); Ruben Ciriaco, Program Coordinator; Edward S. Flores, Program Coordinator of CCS; and other faculty members, namely, Mark Bernardino, Wilfredo Gonzales, and Floreizl P. Ventocilla.

Mr. Napiza shared that the LSPU and TIP are in the process of finalizing a memorandum of agreement (MOA) to formalize their partnership.
