LSPU continues preps for IA evaluation

As part of its ongoing commitment to quality higher education, the Laguna State Polytechnic University-Sta Cruz Campus (LSPU-SCC) conducted a comprehensive review and evaluation of its compliance report for institutional accreditation (IA) at the CHMT Function Hall, Aug. 8.

In 2019, the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) awarded the IA status to LSPU, making the University the first State University and College (SUC) in the Calabarzon region to seal such status.

The IA status of LSPU is valid until December 5, 2024, hence, subjecting it to a new accreditation process.

During the IA evaluation, Dr. Alberto D. Yazon, Director for Quality Assurance, presented the feedback and evaluation results of the initial institutional review of the compliance report. He identified areas of strength and highlighted opportunities for improvement, offering actionable recommendations to enhance LSPU’s standing in the accreditation process.

Meanwhile, Annalyn A. Delfino, Quality Assurance Officer, discussed the preparation of the institutional portfolio. She emphasized the need for thorough documentation and presentation of LSPU’s achievements and compliance with accreditation standards.

In his welcome remarks, Engr. Manuel Luis Alvarez, Campus Director, emphasized the significance of the accreditation process. He reminded everyone to ensure that all documents required by the accreditor are prepared and that all necessary compliance requirements are met. He also extended his assistance with any tasks related to institutional accreditation that needed to be accomplished.

An open forum was held for members of the Technical Working Group (TWG) to clarify any concerns to ensure that the preparation of the necessary documents for the IA would be more organized and efficient. Dr. Yazon and Ms. Delfino addressed all concerns and reminded everyone that they could coordinate with the Quality Assurance Office for any concerns related to IA preparation.

Jean B. Cabela, Quality Assurance Officer, also presented the agenda for the activity while. Saira C. Jovellano served as the moderator.
