Auditors from TUV Rheinland, an organization that provide audit and testing for the International Organization for Standardization, visited Laguna State Polytechnic University for the Stage 2 Audit of the university’s chase of the ISO 9001:2015, October 22-23.
LSPU Sta. Cruz Main Campus greeted the auditors in a formal program on the first day, with VP for Admin Efren R. Dela Paz. J.D. delivering his welcome remarks.
During the speech of University President Dr. Nestor M. De Vera, he told everyone that he envisioned LSPU to become a Center of Excellence, but he was glad that the university was awarded as Center of Development. He added that before he retires, he wish LSPU to become ISO Certified.
Mr. John Francis Faustorilla, lead auditor, discussed the details of the audit, introduced his co-auditors, and stated which areas will they observe and look closely into.
The program’s end marked the start of the audit proper, with the auditors observing their assigned areas.
When asked about the common problem in the research department, Research and Development Director Mr. Christian Paul Dela Cruz answered ―sometimes it was funding, but the research department managed to perform using external funding.
In the audit of extension, Mr. Rolando Remitar, auditor assigned to the area, said that the measure of sustainability of extension is the impact assessment in the community, to which Ms. Angela Reginaldo, LSPU director for extension and training services, agreed.
After the lunch break, the auditors split into two groups, with one staying at the main campus for further audit and one travelling to Los Baños Campus.
