The Department of Tourism (DOT)-CALABARZON recognized the College of Hospitality Management and Tourism (CHMT) of the Laguna State Polytechnic University-Los Baños Campus (LSPU-LBC) for its contribution to the development of the tourism industry in the region.
Ms. Aprilyn E. Etorma, Associate Dean of CHMT in LSPU-LBC, received the award during the CALABARZON Tourism Excellence Appreciation 2023 held at the Twin Lakes Hotel, Laurel, Batangas, Jan. 29.
The College was recognized for its promotion of the Filipino Brand of Service Excellence (FBSE), a training program of the DOT that aims to provide excellent service to tourists based on Filipino values.
Through the initiative of regularly conducting seminars on tourism and hospitality facilitated by DOT, the college contributed to the total number of trained tourism frontline stakeholders in the region for FBSE training.
As reported by the Philippine Information Agency (PIA)- CALABARZON, the Department of Tourism (DOT) IV-A was recognized as the top contributor for the FBSE training program for 2023, having a total of 12,483 trained tourism frontline stakeholders.
On its Facebook page, DOT-CALABARZON shared that the ceremony aimed “to honor the dreamers, doers, trailblazers, and visionaries who have left an indelible mark in making CALABARZON tourism a rich tapestry of experience and excellence.
Among the honorees are Local Government Units (LGUs), partner National Government Agencies (NGAs), private tourism enterprises, the academic community, media partners, institutional partners, and notable individuals in the region.
