Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) renewed its international partnership with Thai Nguyen University (TNU) in Vietnam, Feb 24-March 1.
Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) Dr. Eden C. Callo, together with College of Teacher Education dean and associate deans, Dr. Florhaida V. Pamatmat, Dr. Edna O. Briones, Dr. Amelia Bodabilla, and Dr. Consortia S. Tan respectively, visited TNU in the creation of new memorandum of agreement (MOA) proposal between the two educational institutions.
LSPU and TNU have been strong partners in the field of language teaching and learning since 2007.
In the implementation of Master of Arts in Teaching English which is a course offering of the Graduate Studies and Applied Research (GS-AR) especially structured for foreign students, a number of LSPU instructors had been sent to TNU in honing Vietnamese professors’ communicative language skills in teaching English
Likewise, fourth year Bachelor of Secondary Education (BSED) major in English students of the university conduct their practice teaching in Vietnam, deployed to different TNU partner universities and English learning centers. Under such a training, the pre-service teachers not only cater students across all levels (from kids to adults) but also experience cultural immersion in another Southeast Asian country.
With the renewal of understanding comes the anticipation for longer and stronger partnership between LSPU and TNU.***
