Commission on Higher Education (CHED) conducts a zonal public orientation on policies, standards and guidelines in the issuance of Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC) to State Universities and Colleges (SUCs) and Local Universities and Colleges (LUCs).

For the Luzon region, the Laguna State Polytechnic University (LSPU) attended the said orientation conducted at the International Convention Center, Cavite State University (CavSU), Idang Cavite, Nov. 22.

Representing the University were Dr. Eden C. Callo, Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA); Dr. Zenaida O. Vitasa, Director of the Curriculum Instruction Development and Quality Assurance (CIDQA); Dr. Florhaida V. Pamatmat, Dean of the College of Teacher Education (CTE); Dr. Edilberto Z. Andal, Associate Dean of CTE; and Joel M. Bawica, Dean of the College of Computer Studies (CCS).

Dr. Amelia A. Biglete, CHED Regional Director in CALABARZON, delivered the opening remarks and the presentation of CMO No. 14 s.2019 or the policies and guidelines in the issuance of COPC.

For Luzonwide are, GR and COPC are regarded as synonymous. However, for any curricular programs offering graduate and undergraduate studies without government recognition (GR) and/or COPC shall apply for the latter until March 2020. Further, in case programs had received their GR for a time deemed needing for review, the SUC or LUC shall submit COPC requirements/compliance to CHED for monitoring. Finally, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSIT) programs shall still be offered subjected for COPC evaluation even without the policies, standards, and guidelines (PSG) by CHED. ***
