“The biggest room is still the room for improvement,” Accrediting Agency of Chartered Colleges and Universities in the Philippines (AACCUP) Inc., Overall Coordinator Dr. Thelma F. Lanuza said in the opening program of the AACCUP First Survey Visit held at the Laguna State Polytechnic University – San Pablo City Campus (LSPU-SPCC) Amphitheater, Sept. 14.
Sixteen accreditors from different universities and colleges gathered to evaluate five programs in LSPU-SPCC, namely: Doctor of Education Major in Educational Management, BS Criminology, BS Electrical Engineering, BS Business Administration Major in Financial Management, and BS Business AdministrationMajor in Office Administration for level one status.
Dr. Lanuza stressed that they are not here to find faults or to criticize but because of their aim to assist the campus to identify the strengths and areas needing improvement.
She furthered that the campus has improved greatly—covered walks, newly-constructed buildings, ongoing construction of the hostel—from her last visit four years ago.
Prior to this, Campus Director Dr. Ruperto Espinueva, who welcomed the accreditors, stressed the significance of the event. “This is an opportunity for us to know where we are now in quality assurance in terms of our programs,” he said.
Dr. Espinueva asked for students’ cooperation since this event is not just for the university but also for the students.
Moreover, he also acknowledged the assigned faculty and staff for their efforts in the preparation of necessary documents and requirements in the accreditation.
The team of accreditors consists of Dr. Thelma T. Lanuza, Dr. Adelina D. Ancheta, Prof. Mervic M. Pariñas, Prof. Heherson A. Alcaraz, Prof. Ramesis M. Lorino, Prof. Trinidad G. Pasong, Dr. Remely A.
