New Agripreneurs ink MOA with LSPU-AATBI

The Laguna State Polytechnic University Agri-Aqua Technology Business Incubation (LSPU-AATBI) held its online Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) signing with its incubatees on April 30, 2020.  Dr. Mario Briones, LSPU President, engaged actively in the virtual ceremony, originally scheduled on March 19, 2020 but was in abeyance due to Covid-19 Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ). A total of 31 participants attended the program including LSPU officials, AATBI team, and the 23 new agripreneurs composed of seven technology developers cum in-wall incubatees and 16 outwall incubatees from different parts of Laguna.

The signed MOA were represented by Dr. Briones and incubatees, with witnesses such as Dr. Robert Agatep and Engr. Joseph Cabiente, Campus Directors; Dr. Corazon San Agustin and Dr. Editha Perey, Vice President for Research, Development, and Extension, and Director for Research respectively; and Engr. Isabelita Domingo and Ms. Mary Ann Barile, AATBI Project Leader and Manager, respectively.

“It is our desire that LSPU and through the valuable support of DOST-PCAARRD (AATBI’s funding agency), we will be able to source out more support for all incubatees, said Dr. Briones in his virtual message. Dr. San Agustin likewise said that this activity is a great opportunity to help our country develop its economy especially during this pandemic period.   Ms. Barile shared some plans of AATBI including co-incubation with other ATBIs, online trainings, and the project’s dream for LSPU’s technologies and products be commercialized, exported, and purchased on different super malls. She signed off by encouraging all stakeholders of AATBI to dream big from small beginnings. (MLBarile&JLSanchez)
