LSPU Reviews OBE - Course Designing of its Faculty

Santa Cruz (Main ) Campus- The Office of the Vice-President for Academic Affairs under Dr. Mario C. Pasion, through the Curriculum, Instruction Development & Quality Assurance (CIDQA) scheduled three-day seminar for the Outcomes-Based Education course design write shop, presentation and critiquing on April 15-16-17, 2015 at Makiling Pavilion, Splash Mountain Resort Hotel, Brgy. Lalakay, Los Banos, Laguna.

Write Shop is held on day one, presentation is on day two and the critiquing of outputs is on day 3. Resource speakers have been tapped to assist in the 3-day academic activity like: Dr. Amelia A. Gaerlan (CHED Consultant & retired UST Dean); Dr. Delia Rodriguez (CHED Focal Person, Region IVA); Dr. Jerome A. Chavez (Assessment Specialist, Mathematics Education).

Meanwhile, the OBE implementation in the State University is based on the CMO 37, s. 2012, which stipulates policies, standards and guidelines in the establishment of an OBE system in HEIs. Further, this PSGs focus for the institutions with accredited programs to demonstrate that its graduates have met an acceptable level of knowledge, skills and attitude demanded by their different fields of practice. Furthermore, accredited demands that program outcomes must be aligned with the mission and educational objectives and the OBE system is supported by a continuous quality improvement program (CMO No. 37, s. 2012, Article 1, section 1).
