LSPU holds seminar on gender research

Laguna State Polytechnic University conducted a seminar entitled “Building an Infrastructure of Inter-professional Gender Research Collaboration” at the Amphitheatre , San Pablo City Campus, February 19.

The conference was made possible with the cooperation of the Gender and Development (GAD) Resource Center, Guidance Services (GS) and Health Services (HS).

Attendees of the event were students from the College of Nursing and Allied Health (CONAH) and Bachelor of Science in Biology from the College of Arts and Science (CAS).

Maria Reila Molina served as the resource speaker of the event. Nurse Molina holds three (3) national nursing certifications (Acute Care Nurse Practitioner, Adult-Gerontology and Critical Care), and is a University of Pennsylvania certified research coordinator. She has authored and co-authored more than a hundred impactful abstracts, conference papers, and peer-reviewed articles regarding nurse practitioners and related health services.

As part of her visit to the university, Nurse Molina also donated books, journals and reference materials deemed to be beneficial for student-attendees, especially those whose interest falls under nursing and health.

The program started with an invocation, followed by the singing of the national anthem.

A/Prof. Albert Castillo from the Student Affairs and Services office delivered the opening remarks, followed by the rationale by Dr. Ruby B. Brion, GAD Director. Meanwhile, Nurse Sigfried S. Crucillo of HS led the introduction of the participants.

Before the commencement of the talk, Dr. Eden C. Callo, Vice President for Academic Affairs provided a short bio of Nurse Molina.

Finally, Engr. Paul Enrico F. Puyo closed the program with a short message.
